Bilbrook Councillor Stuart Bailey joins the Liberal Democrats
The Liberal Democrats are thrilled to announce that Councillor Stuart Bailey, representing the Bilbrook West ward, has officially joined the party.
Known for his remarkable charity fundraising efforts, Councillor Bailey brings a wealth of experience and a passionate commitment to community service to the Liberal Democrats.
Councillor Bailey has long been a beloved figure in Bilbrook for his dedication to local causes and his unique approach to fundraising, particularly running marathons dressed as Peppa Pig. He raised £10,000 for the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity in 2021 by running 100 miles in costume, significantly exceeding his initial target of 25 miles and £200. His efforts were recognized when he was shortlisted for the BBC Radio West Midlands "Make A Difference Heroes Award."
Councillor Stuart Bailey expressed his enthusiasm about the move, stating, "Joining the Liberal Democrats feels like a natural step for me. Their commitment to social justice, environmental sustainability, and community engagement resonates deeply with my own values. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to make a positive impact in Bilbrook and beyond."
South Staffordshire Liberal Democrats Vice Chair Greg Spruce welcomed Councillor Bailey to the party, saying, "We are delighted to welcome Stuart Bailey to the Liberal Democrats. Stuart's tireless dedication to charity and his innovative fundraising efforts reflect the core values of our party. The Liberal Democrats are growing, with a significant number of councillors added in the last 2 years. With double the number of councillors of the Greens and Labour on South Staffordshire Council, it is a clear choice locally between Conservative decline and the hard working Lib Dems. We look forward to working with Stuart and encourage others who share our vision to join us in making a difference."
The Liberal Democrats invite others who share their vision to join the movement and make a difference in their local communities. For more information on joining the Liberal Democrats, please click here
